I have many goals and practices when I work, regardless of my role in a production.
One of my core values as an SM is developing strong relationships with my team, cast, and crew to ensure that rehearsals and performances run smoothly. Once we leave the rehearsal room, I aim to maintain a safe, organized work environment backstage or in tech row and keep morale high during the long tech hours. Additionally, I strive to create clear, accessible paperwork to make communication in our team and between departments as efficient as possible.
Paperwork examples are available upon request.

Urinetown was such an exciting adventure to be a part of. It has been the largest scale show I've worked on as an ASM, and it allowed me to exercise my organizational/planning skills to make life backstage as efficient, safe, and organized as possible while navigating around cast who are constantly moving in between us to get to their places.

"A Rock 'n Roll Story of Unrequited Love, one about Lust, and another about Jealousy, that fall into each other across Space and Time, ending in a total blood bath, narrated by God." - Penn State Centre Stage
Bonnets was an absolute joy to be apart of, and taught me so much about being an assistant stage manager as a part of a larger team. I found that I enjoyed getting to solve problems with other people and work off of each other to improve our ways of working, for the success not just of the show, but ourselves as people.
(Ask me about my mirror cards I made for the show :) )

"The NMH Performing Arts Department presented a musical revue, Hear Our Voices, to an invited live audience, and streamed to the NMH community, from the Chiles Theater." - NMH website
My first fully fledged stage management assignment that made it to the stage (thanks COVID.) Responsiblites included everything typically associated with a production stage management position, including but not limited to, organizing auditions/rehearsals, communication/daily calls sent to actors every day, detailed report logs, and calling the show for the entirety of the run.
Dance shows were performed every semester, highlighting work done in classes, produced by faculty and students. Types of dance ranged from tap, to ballet, to modern, to hip-hop, and more.
Not a typical stage management position, as in, I had little to no presence in the dance rehearsal rooms. However, I called all the shows, giving me much practice working/calling off of music with or without lyrics and a solid understanding of musical timing. Additionally, it helped me learn how to quickly adapt and jump into a space with little to no previous knowledge and perform successfully.
